When you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication data necessary to provide our services.
We collect information about how you use Geo-Tag-It, including geotagging history, processing statistics, and feature usage to improve our service.
All image processing happens entirely in your browser on your own device. When you geotag a photo, view or remove EXIF metadata, or resize an image, your photo is never uploaded to our servers - the file is read and modified locally, then downloaded back to your device. HEIC/HEIF images are also converted to JPEG format on your device.
The only exception is the optional share feature: if you explicitly choose to share a photo, the photo (with its location and caption) is uploaded so a public share page can be created. Shared photos remain available until you delete the share or your account is removed. Photos you do not choose to share are never uploaded.
When you use our address search or geotagging features, the addresses and coordinates you enter are used to process your images. If you use the Saved Locations feature, your saved location names, addresses, and coordinates are stored in your account for future use.

When you search for an address or use our location features, your search queries are sent to the Nominatim geocoding service, which is powered by OpenStreetMap. This is necessary to convert addresses into GPS coordinates and vice versa. Nominatim's usage is subject to the OpenStreetMap Foundation Privacy Policy.
We use Supabase for user authentication and secure data storage, including your account information, geotagging history, and saved locations.
Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your payment card information on our servers. Stripe's data handling is subject to the Stripe Privacy Policy.
Photos are processed entirely in your browser on your device and are never transmitted to or stored on our servers. There is nothing to delete on our side - once you close the page, the photo exists only on your device. HEIC/HEIF to JPEG conversion also occurs entirely on your device.
Your account information is stored securely using industry-standard encryption and security practices.
We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties except:
• To trusted service providers who assist in operating our service (Supabase for data storage, Stripe for payments, Nominatim/OpenStreetMap for geocoding)
• When required by law or to protect our rights
• With your explicit consent
You have the right to:
• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate data
• Delete your account and associated data, including saved locations and geotagging history
• Export your data
• Withdraw consent for data processing
We use essential cookies for authentication and service functionality. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
• Account data: Retained until account deletion
• Saved locations: Retained until individually deleted or account deletion
• Usage history: Retained for service improvement and user benefit
• Photos: Never uploaded to our servers. The only exception is photos you explicitly choose to share, which are stored so your share link works until you delete the share or your account is removed
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international data transfers.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new privacy policy on this page and updating the "last updated" date.
